“You may be able to alleviate some very common pet problems with ordinary household items that you likely already have.”
One of these remedies is Dawn dishwashing detergent. Shampooing your dog with a small amount of Dawn will kill fleas and is inexpensive and safe.
If you are having difficulty trying to get your dog to stop chewing shoes and/or furniture, try putting some BenGay on the item or spraying it with a light mist of diluted apple cider vinegar. Sure, the smell may be unpleasant, but it is only temporary, and once the dog is trained to leave your things alone, you shouldnt have to keep using it.
Cuts and Scrapes
Cuts and scrapes on dogs may be treated safely with Bag Balm, which is an ointment originally created to soften cows udders and to protect them from chafing. This product is available in the pet section of Walmart.
For itchy paws, fill a bathtub with 2 inches of water and dissolve 3 cups of Epsom salt in the water. Allow your dog to stand in the water for 5 to 10 minutes to relieve the itching.
Cayenne pepper and/or Tabasco hot sauce applied to outdoor areas will deter digging on those areas.
So, you see, if you are willing to look for home remedies, you may be surprised at what you can learn!
